Westfields Local Heroes is a recognition and awards program that connects and enriches communities in Australia and New Zealand. The program discovers and celebrates individuals who make a positive impact to their local community and/or environment.
Westfield Local Heroes are nominated and voted for by their communities, with three finalists per Westfield centre each awarded a $10,000 grant for their affiliated organisation or group.
The program recognises and promotes community role models whose work or activities create positive benefit for others.
About CaringKids and Founder Margaret Skagias
Caring Kids has evolved into an organisation that collects and recycles pre-loved toys, packages them into Toy Boxes and sends them out to children who are caring for ill or disabled family member across Australia. We provide these incredible kids with the tools of childhood.
My vision for CaringKids is to honour the contribution of special needs siblings and young carers. They are often overlooked and forgotten. We work with partner charities to give these children the recognition and support they need, and most importantly, to put a smile on their face and acknowledge them.
Voting is open from Tuesday 25 August to Tuesday 14 September 2020.
Share the voting link with your friends, family and colleagues. Your vote will help CaringKids to pack and send more Toy Boxes to kids in need.
